About Us

Sarah Irene Knits is a one-woman operation run by me, Sarah Irene. My grandmother tried to teach me to knit when I was 8 years old. I picked up some basics from her, but the call of the carefree kid life - playing outside, riding bikes, swimming, building caterpillar huts, exploring the woods, playing games, and all the other playful things kids spend their time on - kept me from really getting into knitting until I was much older. I may not have appreciated the craft of knitting when I was first introduced to it, but I have since fallen into it head first and absolutely love the process of knitting as well as the beautiful one of a kind finished products. 2020 provided me more at-home time to really dig into knitting, try new techniques, and push myself farther in the craft.

I started posting my knitted items on my personal Instagram and got great responses from the knitting community and anyone who saw them. People started asking if they could buy the items I was posting. At first, I was dedicated to my career in the corporate world and knitting was something I did for myself to de-stress and challenge myself in creative ways so I didn't consider selling my creations. Then, life threw me some curveballs and I took a step back to decide what was next for me. I wanted to spend more time with my family, so I decided to shift focus. I am now focusing on caregiving and running this small business - and happily, knitting more than ever.

Owning and running a small business has been such a great learning opportunity for me. I get to create beautiful things and share them with you. Whether you are browsing my site or my Instagram to just see and appreciate the lovely things knitting can create, or if you are here to purchase a unique item for yourself or someone you love, you are appreciated! Thank you for stopping by, reading more about me, viewing the artisan knitted goods here, and for supporting a person just trying to create some beauty and provide for her family.

Wishing you all the best!
